The special suit I had to put on looked like something you might wear to walk across cooling lava, but it was to protect against the cold, not the heat--though the lab, when we entered, was ordinary room temperature.The suit was necessary because I was going to be shown some of the experimental substance. Hyperalloy tongs lifted out a vial--and a killing cold radiated from it, covering the lab in hoarfrost. The substance was the ultimate cold #brew, near absolute zero.

I'm getting more equipment for cider making. Yesterday, I racked a couple of my first experiments into 1 gallon glass jugs. I sanitized everything, took specific gravity readings, and had a taste (tastes amazing so far). Shout-out to all the YouTube videos that show how easy it is to make your own hard cider. I'll probably be bottling these in a week or two, and starting new batches in the meantime.
