Here are two Lunokhod 2 pans from my Moon book, and if you check them against the linked source you will see they are both flipped left-right. The top one shows a 'figure 8' sign in the tracks, said to be for International Women's Day, though made in January. I wanted to make a map of the landing site and these plus 1 or 2 more images were all I had to go on. If you use flipped images to make a map it's going to be flipped too. You can see where this is going...
I can't avoid any longer the matter of my greatest error. Looking back, this was inexcusable, but at the time it seemed right. Here:
https://www.planetology.ru/panoramas/lunokhod2.php
are the Lunokhod 2 panoramas. But when I was working on my Moon book they were not available and people relied on published versions. I have told before how I found 1 or 2 cases of Lunokhod 1 panoramas printed in reverse (mirror-image), and began to imagine it everywhere. This is where bad things happened. #moon #luna21 #lunokhod2

The Gargoyles' Eclipse

Explanation:
In dramatic silhouette against a cloudy daytime sky over Paris, France, gargoyles cast their monstrous gaze outward from the west facade of Notre Dame Cathedral. Taken on March 29, this telephoto snapshot also captures the dramatic silhouette of a New Moon against the bright solar disk in a partial solar eclipse. Happening high in Parisian skies, the partial eclipse was close to its maximum phase of about 23 percent. Occurring near the end of the first eclipse season of 2025, this partial solar eclipse followed the total eclipse of the Full Moon on March 13/14. The upcoming second eclipse season of 2025 will see a total lunar eclipse on September 7/8 and partial solar eclipse on September 21. The partial solar eclipse will be seen only from locations in planet Earth's southern hemisphere.

We're back on another adventure . There is a lovely moon, for a little while longer at least (app says the moon goes out of sight around 4:38). It's 11°C, with a real feel of about 9, and it's dry. So it's not too bad for a walk.
I rode the seated bike for 35 minutes and then I enjoyed a massage in the chair for ten. So it's not much, but at least I did something. After the abuse I'd given my body yesterday morning, I didn't want to push it. Especially since I'll need to do more garden work soon...
But I do hope to get some gaming in today, hopefully while on chat ejth a dear friend. Maybe I can get some weeds out early this morning, every little bit helps? It's not a nice job, and it's hard work, but it does look a lot better now, even though it's still messy. Stupid weeds here...
Let's see if I can write a bit for my blog. It's weekend! But... What's a weekend? As the great dame Maggie Smith (RIP) asked in one of the earliest Downton Abbey episodes...
Catch you all later folks! I'll leave you with a slightly edited snap of the moon here tonight.
[Перевод] NASA принимает в США модуль HALO лунной космической станции Gateway
SpaceX Falcon Heavy.
