#MLB #MinorLeagues

Haven't been to an MLB game in #SF or #Oakland for years.

Just watch them on #TV when I can now but I have been going to minor league games in #Modesto, #Stockton & #Sacramento.

Now that the #Athletics have moved to #Sac, I'll have to consider whether to go up to see their games but I'd still rather go there just to watch the #AAA #RiverCats

May also take the time to go to #WestOakland to watch a #SemiPro #Ballers game this season. Just heard they've opened a food mall across the street which will give me another reason to go there to check it out.

I'm currently planning to drive down to Modesto to watch the #SingleA minor league game between the #ModestoNuts & #SanJoseGiants on Sunday at 1pm.

I mentioned in a toot that I posted yesterday that the nut/fruit trees are now in bloom in the Central Valley I you've never seen this, it's quite a sight.

#Modesto actually promotes a self-directed tour of the blossom fields called the Almond Blossom Cruise that I've done in the past.

Fresno has a blossom tour too but I assume most of the people on SFBA.social don't want to drive that far south to see it. However, any SoCal members might want to head to Fresno to do so.

It's a fun way to explore the Sierra foothills east of Modesto where you will find most of the almond orchards. There are also a couple of interesting eateries to stop at along the way.

If you're interested that a look at the following link but don't wait to long to take the "cruise" because the blossoms don't last more than a wk or 2 at most & they are in full bloom now.

Yesterday, 200 people took to the streets in South Modesto, marching against ICE raids and standing in solidarity with all those targeted by the Trump regime.

Low-riders waving UFW flags took part in the procession, blocking streets. People marched to a local popular flea market where people held a rally and gave out Know Your Rights information to attendees.

People in #Modesto, #Merced, and across the Central Valley kept it lit today. We got reports from lots of folks that many youth did not go to school and some walked out. Many others did not go to work.

Hundreds rallied in Merced and Modesto, waving flags, banners and signs. This is just the start!

The Central Valley has always been a place where the working-class - and hyper-exploited immigrant workers most of all - have fought back against the bosses and repression from the government. Today's actions only carry this struggle forward.

Students are walking out of class and hella people are holding protests and rallies in #Modesto and #Merced - if you see or hear of a protest, come out in support!

Bring signs, banners, zines, stickers, water, mutual aid, and snacks to share! Help keep kids walking out of schools safe. Watch for fash. Trump supporters have been out glaring at people and acting like the pieces of shit they are.

Show up and offer solidarity. Make connections. Talk to people. Help build and connect the struggles!
