okay, cleaned up the surrounding code, added some #ui gimmicks, and next thing to do will be saving files - for real for real.

big milestone given #tek still can't! i'll post a proper screencast, too, to showcase the improved #tui and the general workflow.

building a tool for preparing releases (not to mention that whole #diy #daw thing) instead of making music ... what is wrong with me ... smh. #xkcd 1205 comes to mind...

here's a video of #taggart resizing columns using docs.rs/unicode-width/latest/u to cut the string at the correct locations!

still doesn't save, still crashes on backspace, but at least it looks cute now! next - make it save tags, thanks to docs.rs/lofty (as recommended by codeberg.org/Frieder_Hannenheim), and that'll probably be the v0.1

TrimString and TrimStringRef are now available in the underlying framework, #tengri. all work on this precipitates into #tek, the original #tui #daw 😉

the table thing ties back into into #vestal, the binary patcher for old soundwares (codeberg.org/unspeaker/vestal - that one isn't passing its ci yet, baaad code, baaaaaad developer!)

that could sure use some interactivity, at least in development. would keep me focused.

it also ties back into #tek, whose entire thing is reimplementing #ableton's "#excel for music" schtick in a terminal, so, again, tables!

or, more properly, collapsible table-trees... not a new idea, more like a lost technology! 😁

I am trying to blog more at TurtleIsland.blog things that are important and/or have been popular at TurtleIsland.social.

When I do buy and read a book, you can believe it is special. Indigenous Critical Reflections On Traditional Ecological Knowledge, is one such book. This book is definitely my top 2025 choice.

and no, i'm not walking that shit back.

(nor can i do anything about my distaste for "playing" electronic music on fucking #pioneer / #alphatheta #cdj. even though commanding a crowd of coked-up losers through a cd player does sound enticing, in a way, and i know good people who do that well. i still don't like it)

instead, i'm doubling the fuck down once again (i'm folded into at least 384 by now) and building a #vestal to go with the #tek, and the `man` page will go something like:
